Given our close proximity to Canada, we do receive a
number of requests for information about
purchasing vehicles from our dealership for export to Canada. While we cannot sell a brand new Ford vehicle over international borders, we can offer any of our preowned
vehicles for sale.
A few important points: (All

Any remaining factory
warranty must be approved by the manufacturer's representative in
Canada. Please visit www.ford.ca for more information.
Steps
must be followed to clear the vehicle through customs at the border,
which could take upwards of 72 hours. The Registrar of Imported
Vehicles' website has a comprehensive list of steps that must be taken
to allow this to happen.
All
paperwork for the deal must be completed at our dealership in Dover, New
Hampshire at the time of delivery. We can take a partial payment to secure the vehicle by credit card
(Must be less than $2500) over the phone and fill out the initial
purchase order, but the physical signing over of title and final
delivery paperwork must be completed on site.
Final payment for the
vehicle must be paid by certified check or wire transfer.
Dover
is approximately 4.5-5 hours from the border crossing at Houlton, Maine
on Interstate 95, 5 hours from Calais, ME, just over 3 hours from the
crossing at Newport, VT on Interstate 91 (south of Sherbrooke), and 4
hours from the border just north of Swanton, VT on Interstate 89.
New Hampshire's
Seacoast is a rich tapestry of rocky coastlines, long sandy beaches,
quaint towns and scenery backed by the heartbeat of the cities of Dover
and Portsmouth. Should you choose to stay in the greater
Portsmouth or Dover area, there
are a number of hotels, restaurants and things to do should you have to
wait for your paperwork to clear through customs.
